Young man, are you feeling bored? Young woman, have you heard of the Lord? Young man, young woman, why don't you look around, There's no need to be unhappy.
Young man, there's a place you can go, Young woman, every cool Mormon knows, You can hang there, and I'm sure you will find It's a way to have a good time.
Chorus: It's fun to hang with the YM/YW It's fun to hang with the YM/YW You can keep yourself clean, Sometimes they feed you meals, And the Spirit is what you feel.
It's fun to hang with the YM/YW It's fun to hang with the YM/YW They do all of the things That the youth will enjoy If you can handle the noise
Young man, please turn off that TV! Young woman, are you listening to me? If you go there, they will make real your dreams But you've got to know one more thing.
No one, does it all by their self, I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf Girl, go there, to mutual night I am sure they'll help you choose right.
Repeat Chorus
Young man, you have nothing to lose. Young woman, I was once in your shoes. Do you wish your man would put on a tie? Service can make you feel so high.
Thank goodness someone came up to me And said, hey there, take a walk up the street There's a program that you've got to check out It will show you what life's about.
Repeat Chorus and Fade...

| "My Once Upon A Time"
For a New Beginnings your girls will never forget, have them join Little Red Riding Hood in writing her own story. Along the way she meets Snow White and the Seven Values and learns the importance of staying "Steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works." Dorothy tries to get her to follow the yellow brick road and Arial wants to be in YW but doesn't quite know how. It ends with a great new song by Joan Sowards (http://www.joansowards.com/Always+Abounding) check it out!
If you have a more than 18 girls in your YW's program, write in more parts. You could have more sea creatures with Arial or add Munchkins. Another option is to increase the number of backstage technicians or makeup artists but get everyone to have a part. With a smaller group you could combine the Fairy Godmother and the Mother or the DoorKeeper and the Narrator. Don't worry if it isn't perfect. We are doing this in two practices and singing the theme song for three Sundays. Just have fun.

NEW BEGINNINGS Lighthouse Theme
Another idea for a New Beginnings Program for YW is having a lighthouse mottif to roll out the new theme "Be Steadfast and Immovable." The girls can get keychains from Zazzle. The Deford song "I will Stand as a Witness" really works with the topic (only we are changing the one line "a city on a hill can not be hid" to "be steadfast and immovable, my child/ abounding in goodworks and you'll be mine".) The the girls can present little vinnettes of Esther, Ruth, Mary Fielding and the Laurels are coming up with modern examples to be interspersed. I think it would be a great night.

YW Program- Heaven's Kitchen
A special guest is coming and the YW need to prepare something wonderful for him- a seven layer cake made of all the best things of life. Each layer represents a value and in the end they realize that "with a little bit of Faith, we will be the princess he once knew." (Sung to "With a little bit of Luck" from My Fair Lady)
A nice review of the Personal Progress Program, great for New Beginnings or Young Women of Excellence
